Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac rehabilitation aerobic endurance exercise programmes play a major part in helping individuals with heart problems to regain full physical, psychological and social status and to prevent a reoccurrence of a cardiac event in order to optimise long-term prognosis.
As well as improved survival, cardiac rehabilitation can help individuals:

-
Recovering after heart attack or heart surgery
-
Reduce an angina attack
-
Prevent future hospital stays and death related issues related to heart problems
-
Reduce the risk of developing coronary heart disease by addressing major risk actors such as high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, overweight and obesity, diabetes, smoking, lack of physical activity, depression and other emotional circumstances.
-
Maintain a positive healthy life style change.
In-line with British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention & Rehabilitation (BACPR) recommended guidelines we offer a supervised structured programme of safe and effective exercise to help promote favorable effects on the health and wellbeing of people with coronary heart problems. In a group or one-to-one setting each client will have a programme that is designed to meet his or her individual needs.
Tai Chi /Qigong for Mobility
As exercise training may not be safe for all clients for example those individuals with high blood pressure or severe heart disease, we offer a more gentler type of exercise in the form of Tai Chi/Qigong - a low impact exercise which combines deep breathing and relaxation techniques with slow graceful movements.
The long-term practice of Tai Chi can promote balance control, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness and reduce the risk of falls. It has also been found to reduce pain, stress and anxiety. Extensive research has acknowledged the beneficial effects of Tai chi for: cancer patients, Parkinson’s, COPD, Heart failure, fibromyalgia and ME (chronic fatigue syndrome).

"Caroline’s use of Sports massage coupled with planning and advice on a usable exercise system, incorporating ideal weight/BMI goals along with defined heart rate/pulse rate parameters, linked to my age, weight and height, for both during exercise and at rest, have been pivotal in my return to a regular beneficial exercise regime that has lead to a 21 lb weight loss and a drop in blood pressure that has taken me below the pre-hypertensive “at risk” level. Clear and motivational at all times, Caroline’s extensive knowledge and experience has been invaluable to my health improvement and I recommend her to anyone that wishes to turn their health fortunes around and who needs help to achieve that in a safe and managed way" David - Kent.
